Итальянец Этторе Баракки (Ettore Baracchi) попал в Саратов из Флоренции в 1870‑е бедным уличным художником, но к началу XX века владел лучшим фотографическим ателье, был популярным декоратором и живописцем. Он основал саратовское Общество любителей изящных искусств, участвовал в создании Радищевского музея, развивал театр — пригласил в город с гастролями Томмазо Сальвини! Баракки открыл в своём доме частную художественную мастерскую, где его учениками были прославленные в будущем представители саратовской школы живописи: Виктор Борисов‑Мусатов, Павел Кузнецов, Пётр Уткин, Александр Матвеев.
Дом Гектора Баракки — двухэтажный особняк второй половины XIX века — находится в историческом центре города и обладает статусом объекта культурного наследия регионального значения. Эти обстоятельства позволили создать на базе ветхого нежилого здания городской культурный центр новой формации «Дом Гектора Баракки» (2018, директор — Игорь Сорокин). Команда культурного центра спасла дом от планового сноса, и сейчас формирует Фонд восстановления дома Гектора Баракки в Саратове.
В настоящее время Фонд владеет особняком Баракки и земельным участком при нём площадью 905 квадратных метров. Основной целью Фонда является показательная научная реставрация аварийного дома художника и дальнейшее наполнение места.

Ettore Baracchi came to Saratov from Florence in 1870s as a poor street artist but at the beginning of XX century he became owner of the best photo shop in town, was a popular decorator and painter. He founded Saratov Society of Friends of Fine Arts, took part in creation of Radishchev Art Museum, promoted theater arts — invited Tommaso Salvini to come to Saratov with tours! Baracchi opened a private artistic workshop in his house where he educated a number of prominent Russian artists, representatives of Satatov school of painting: Victor Borisov-Musatov, Pavel Kuznetsov, Pyotr Utkin, Alexander Matveev.
Ettore Baracchi House — a two-storeyed mansion built in the second half of 19th century — is located in historical city center and was assigned a status of an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. These circumstances allowed us to create at the basis of a run-down non-residential building a new-format city cultural center «Ettore Baracchi house» (2018, Director — Igor Sorokin). The cultural center team has rescued the house from a planned demolishing and currently forms the Ettore Baracchi House Reconstruction Foundation in Saratov.
Currently our Foundation owns the house and parcel of land measuring 905 m². The main purpose of the Foundation is an illustrative scientific restoration of the painter's damaged house and further development of the place.

L'italiano Ettore Baracchi arrivò a Saratov da Firenze negli anni '70 dell'Ottocento come artista di strada di modesta condizione, ma all'inizio del XX secolo possedeva un prestigioso studio fotografico ed era un apprezzato decoratore e pittore. Fondò la Società degli Amanti delle Belle Arti di Saratov, partecipò alla creazione del Museo Radiščev e sviluppò l'industria teatrale, invitando Tommaso Salvini a esibirsi in città! Baracchi aprì uno studio d'arte privato nella sua casa, dove tra i suoi studenti figuravano futuri rinomati rappresentanti della scuola pittorica di Saratov: Viktor Borisov-Musatov, Pavel Kuznetsov, Pyotr Utkin e Aleksandr Matveev.
La Casa di Ettore Baracchi, un palazzo a due piani della seconda metà del XIX secolo, si trova nel centro storico della città ed è stata dichiarata patrimonio culturale di importanza regionale. Queste circostanze hanno reso possibile la creazione di un nuovo centro culturale urbano, la Casa Ettore Baracchi (2018, Direttore: Igor Sorokin), sul sito di un edificio non residenziale fatiscente. Il team del centro culturale ha salvato la casa dalla demolizione programmata e ora sta istituendo il Fondo per il Restauro della Casa Ettore Baracchi a Saratov.
Il Fondo attualmente possiede la villa di Baracchi e un terreno di 905 metri quadrati adiacente. L'obiettivo principale del Fondo è condurre un restauro scientifico dimostrativo della casa fatiscente dell'artista e arricchire ulteriormente lo spazio.
